Dear patient,

I warmly welcome you to my website. my name is Dr. Houman Hemmat  and work as a dentist at the dental practice in the Mercado (Dr. Azimian and colleagues). I dedicate myself entirely to your dental and oral health and offer you a wide range of dental services from root canal treatment to high-quality restorations and highly aesthetic veneers. I am happy to give you an insight into my CV at this point.

Doctor. Houman Hemmat

Born: 1984 in Tehran

After graduating in mechanical engineering in Iran in 2009 and working as an engineer for a few years, I decided at the age of 29 to follow my long-cherished dream of becoming a dentist and came to Hamburg to study dentistry.

Since successfully completing my studies at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), I have been working as a dentist in the dental practice in the Mercado.

"Dentistry has always been my passion, as well as the desire to continually develop myself. I see myself as a craftsman, an esthete who aims to exceed the high demands of my patients. As a mechanical engineer, I learned how to use the drill skillfully, which I then perfected for use in dentistry."

Memberships and Qualifications:

  • Scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation since 2018 and member of the Alumni since 2021

  • Member of the German Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (DGZMK) and the German Society for Oral Implantology (DGOI)

In addition to studying dentistry, I have continued my education in the fields of aesthetic dentistry, implantology, periodontology and dental surgery.

Lifelong learning is a guiding principle for me. Even during my studies, I attached great importance to continuing my education and acquiring new knowledge in the areas that particularly interested me. I am particularly interested in aesthetic dentistry (ceramic and composite veneers), but also implantology, periodontology and dental surgery. I attach great importance to never ignoring the aesthetic aspect, because not only pure functionality is important, but also the best possible appearance. A beautiful smile is a highlight for every individual.

I consider international knowledge transfer to be particularly valuable, which is why I regularly exchange ideas with international colleagues about new methods and techniques and always try to combine my personal travels within Europe and the USA with local training.

In addition to my own further training, I really enjoy passing on knowledge and getting involved in teaching. So I enjoyed working as a tutor in the subjects of prosthetics and anatomy both in the preparatory college and later at the UKE.

The desire to constantly develop myself and to give something back to society and help people has always been my passion. I volunteered for the university newspaper at my university in Isfahan and later in Hamburg as a member of the student council, as a representative for the interests of foreign students or as an interpreter for the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. As an alumni of the German National Academic Foundation, I plan to volunteer as a speaker.

To balance out my work as a dentist, I enjoy doing sports and especially enjoy playing tennis. I also enjoy living out my passion for aesthetics in my hobby of photography. I have also been working on graphic and web design for some time and am continuing to expand my skills in this field.
